Welcome to the official page of the Data Management and Artificial Intelligence Centre (DARTIC), Universiti Malaysia Sabah.

DARTIC continues to play a strategic role in strengthening UMS’s aspiration to be a data driven and future ready university. Since its establishment in 2017, the Centre has served as a key enabler for evidence based decision making, supporting university leadership through trusted data, analytics, and artificial intelligence capabilities.

As the Director, my commitment is to further position DARTIC as a central hub for data governance, advanced analytics and responsible artificial intelligence adoption within UMS. Beyond supporting institutional reporting, rating, and ranking requirements, DARTIC will continue to drive greater awareness and maturity in data driven practices across the university community.

Our core functions span the full data lifecycle, including data acquisition, integration, cleansing, analysis, visualisation and dissemination, ensuring that information delivered to stakeholders is accurate, timely, and actionable. DARTIC also remains dedicated to capacity building through consultations, professional training and upskilling programmes, particularly for UMS staff, to cultivate a strong data and artificial intelligence culture across the institution.

Moving forward, we aim to strengthen collaboration with faculties, administrative units, industry, and public sectors including the Sabah state and federal government, while embracing innovation in analytics and artificial intelligence in an ethical, secure, and sustainable manner.

We remain committed to ensuring that the data shared through this platform is current, reliable and valuable. Your feedback and engagement are always welcome as we collectively advance UMS’s data and artificial intelligence journey.
