Data Cleansing Workshop

The Data Cleansing Workshop which was held on the 27-28 August 2018 at Pan Borneo Hotel Putatan, is one of the early initiatives from the Center of Data and Information Management (PPDM) in supporting the university’s aspiration towards strengthening UMS’s data management and information.
The workshop aims to identify frequently arising issues related to the university’s data and update the data in collaboration with the Department / Faculty / Center / Institute / Unit (JFPIU) data owners who are directly involved in university’s data management operations.
In addition, the workshop is also a discussion platform between JFPIU data owners and PPDM in finding the best solution of the university data and information management process in parallel with the IR4.0 Smart Data initiative.
A total of 35 participants comprising of a variety of JFPIU data holders were involved in making this workshop a success, in which participants were divided into 3 main groups namely Staff Modules, Student Modules and R & D & C Modules.
At the end of the workshop, the Staff Module group successfully ranked first place followed by the Student Module and R & D & C Modules in the data update activities assessed in terms of reducing problematic data issues.
